Glossier opened its 7 day pop up doors last week in London and of course I had to go! Glossier team picked an amazing spot, only a short walk away from the hustle and bustle of arguably the busiest street in London, Oxford Street. The location was perfect! Large windows were lit from within, making it really exciting to finally get in. As soon as I was in, instantly I felt a dreamy scent of Byredo “Burned Rose” candle, setting a rather indulging mood! 😉
The interior was absolutely stunning, that’s what Glossier does best after all, impeccable taste and strategic simplicity. Pink walls, white and glass makeup displays, lots of flowers around the fireplace. There was also a drawing room where a few people could have a rest. It had the loveliest set of velvet accent chairs, a coffee table and large posters of Glossier models. My personal favourite was actually the new fragrance display room on the first floor, it had five bottles of perfume sat on the mirror tables that were installed into a massive wall sized mirror; the key of this room however, was of course the deep red lighting that made the atmosphere mysterious and sexy at the same time. I loved it!
The showrooms were spacious and brightly lit, everyone had a chance to swatch the products and speak to the girls in the pink overalls from what I could see. If I were to sum up my entire experience I would say: I absolutely loved it! All I wanted to swatch was there, neat and easily accessible, the girls in pink overalls were friendly and quick. As soon as I made my “order”, I went to the drawing room and waited there, five to six minutes later I had the pink bag in my hand. As easy as that!
Let me tell you about the products that I’ve got. I went for two sets of three products each plus cloud paint which I got separately. I figured that if I wanted to add any of the products to my professional kit, I needed a variety of colours for different skin tones. Plus it was conveniently cheaper that way. So here I have a couple of stretch concealers in light and medium, two of the generation G lipsticks in Zip and Cake, a pair of boy brows in Blonde and Clear and lastly cloud paint in Dusk.
I obviously haven’t used the products yet, but I can already tell that I will love them, all the textures are light and easy to work with, I love the finishes of all of them. They aren’t too shiny or too matte. Really excited to explore more of the products in the future and luckily Glossier now does ship to the UK! Yay!
